Dave Cook – Managing Partner

Dave Cook grew up in Port Huron, Michigan. Michigan is where he attended school and later worked in the Plastic Automotive Engineering field. Dave has always been creative and a leader among his friends and peers. Through these experiences he worked his way up through the company to become the Design Engineering Manager of one of the largest automotive plastic companies in the world. After numerous buyout acquisitions and seeing how unstable the automotive industry was, he decided to move his family to a better life in the state of Florida.

After moving down to Florida with his wife (Dawn) and his two daughters (Kerstin and Nikky), they opened a franchise in which the concept was developed in the state of California. While in Florida, Dave and Dawn expanded this newly developed franchise in the state of Florida to over six locations. With that achievement it gained them the tributes of becoming franchisees of the year. They grew their franchise territory to its full potential, but through more self-awareness and development they realized that the franchise concept was not for them and sold it in 2012.

Dave believes in the world of economy there are four quadrants in business. You are either a employee, a small business owner or a sole proprietor (like a doctor or lawyer) and on the other side is you own a big business or you are an investor. In order to achieve his goals in life he became very familiar with this concept and decided to move his efforts to the other side on the quadrant. As one of his mentors once said “If you help enough other people get what they want, you can have everything you want” ~ Zig Ziglar. So through continual education and self development, he realized that in order to achieve his goals in life, the Insurance business model offered the perfect fit. Dave mentioned “In what other business can you help so many people. Insurance can be very confusing to a lot of people and helping them understand these complex products can be very rewarding and beneficial.”

Since joining another insurance agency in 2012, Dave has been instrumental in helping develop and improving systems. Within the other agency while still building Safeguard Assurance, he became one of the two managing partners. Through this partnership he gained a vast amount of knowledge in the insurance industry, but decided to leave and build his agency brand (Safeguard Assurance LLC) that he and his wife (Dawn) started back in 2012.

As of today, they continue put their clients first while helping other agents in their downline meet and exceed their expectations.
